Sunred heating elements

The different heating elements

Which patio heater is best? We often hear this question. Actually, there is no best patio heater. However, it is possible to determine which patio heater is best for each situation.

What is infrared?
Infrared radiation is a non-visible radiation to the human eye. It acts as heat radiation and is part of the light spectrum generated by the sun. Infrared rays cannot be compared to UV radiation, microwave or X-rays, but is warm, positive and above all healthy!

For each to his own!
Which patio heater is the best? We often get asked this question. Actually, there is no best patio heater. It is however possible to determine which patio heater is best for each situation. In our extensive range you will find patio heaters that can be mounted on the wall, standing models, but also the popular hanging heaters are fully represented.

Below is an overview of the different Sunred elements.
How does infrared radiation work? There are three types of infrared radiation. This has to do with their different wavelengths and the resulting effects:

Infrared short wave warms the body without heating the surrounding air. In short: Immediate heat “start and go” without heat loss. With the SunRed Royal Diamond series patio heaters, 90% of the heat is available in the case of short wave within a second. The short wave is the most effective infrared radiation; these can be found in the: SunRed Royal Diamond Silver line: Royal Diamond Silver, Royal Smart Sunred Heater Royal Diamond Silver Wall 2000, Sunred Heater Royal Diamond Silver Wall / Hanging 3000, “Sunred Heater Royal Diamond Silver Standing 2000”, Sunred Heater Sun and Sound Wall 2000, Sunred Vigo Wall 1500 W Golden Tube.

Infrared medium wave generates heat radiation, a small part of which is released into the circulating air, thereby increasing not only the perceived temperature but also the outer space temperature. SunRed Royal Diamond Dark heater with Carbon Fiber elements. Pleasant “slow start” heaters, ideal for covered verandas. These medium wave elements can be found in our SunRed Professional Smart Heater Royal Diamond Dark Wall 2500, Sunred Heater Royal Diamond Dark Wall 2500, Dark Standing 2500, Diamond Dark Wall 2000, Diamond Dark Wall 1500, Diamond Dark Valencia Lounge 3000, Royal Diamond Dark Vintage Hanging 2500

Infrared long wave most resembles convection heat. The radiation penetrates the body the least and leads to an increase in the ambient air temperature. Has a start-up time of several minutes. Ideal for well-sheltered porches or covered patio areas. These longwave elements are used in the Sunred Heater Nero Wall / Hanging 2400, Sunred Heater Elektra Standing 2000, Sunred Heater Lugo Wall 2000.

Low glare
Very on trend and popular at the moment are the so-called “Low glare” elements. These short wave elements have reduced the light output up to 80%. The patio heaters from the Silver line collection of SunRed are equipped with these efficient elements with minimum brightness. The super-fast and high-quality heating elements ensure that once your patio heater is switched on, you will experience the maximum heat output within seconds. The lifespan of the element has been tested at 10,000+ burning hours, so you can outsmart the cold for several winters!

Ultra-Low Glare
The new Rose Gold Carbon infrared heating element brings the heat intensity to the highest level, by using a high-quality Carbon Fiber element finished with Rose Gold technology. This creates a very intense heat experience, but with minimal light intensity.

In addition to light reduction, these ultra-low glare elements with rosé gold technology also pay attention to a pleasant and attractive colour of the remaining light, comparable to atmospheric candlelight on the terrace. The light reduction is therefore considerable, and even less than with a low- glare element. Ultra-low glare lamps provides even slightly less red light than low-glare lamps.

IP protection class
The IP protection class provides information on particulate and dust protection and the water resistance of the patio heater. The indication of water resistance is important for the use and placement of the patio heater in outdoor areas. All SunRed patio heaters from the Royal Diamond line have an IP protection class of IP55.

IP20 dictates not water resistant but protected against penetration of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.
IP24 dictates splash-proof and protected against penetration of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.
IP44 dictates splash-proof and protected against penetration of solid objects larger than 1 mm.
IP55 dictates splash and spray tight and sufficiently protected against dust.
